Stoldal
- helped converted meat space to digital space
- helped with operations / what works for digital
Debra's recap:
- Office (Debrea/Evelyn/Dac/Matt S) meeting to help shape the digital event
- west was single stream, discord was secondary venue
- indie arcade proposed making a 2nd channel now lovingly called MIGS to include all indies, makerspace, and maybe swadges
- West was hard to staff
- Office wants to support the 2nd MIGS stream (it's been mainly greenlit)
- the office will want to help with tech infrastructure and the staffing infrastructure
- the office will want a say in how the streaming schedule is formed
- social media / promotion are centralized
- the office is building plans as we go for the streaming plan
- the office is looking to provide quality/brand consistency and expectation of quality content
- office cares about consistency of staffing/talent/fun
Tronster:
- practice runs/streams to help align with magfest vision
- practice the handoff from one dept to another
Stoldal:
- 2.5 months to make this happen
- a lot comes down to what the dept is comfortable doing
Debra:
- doesn't have a good idea of the streaming org chart
- west has some expertise now that may help to train up our people
- want to find a balance of giving MIGS enough support
- its hard to do tech piece and the content piece at the same time
Nate M:
- support depends on the length/duration of the stream
Debra:
- main stream:
THR NIGHT MAIN STREAM ONLY (Few hours)
FRI/SAT/SUN - 12 hours on, 12 hours rebroadcasting
- side streams: 12 hours is a good reach, happy if we do less
- may fill with pancakes/3d printing for filler
Stoldal:
- they found benefit in rebroadcasting
- mag tech could arrange this as being pre-programmed
Debra:
- its important as people doing the work are also having fun
- office is here to provide guidence and some support
- want to allow MIGS to switch stream sources
- may have a broadcast engineer to run it
Stoldal:
- for west, people remoted into NC stream host to run it
- are we having all remote
- discord for stream capture is an option
- differeing levels of tech options
- the office is open to training sessions (e.g. 2hr brain dump)
- stream priority: content, audio, video, graphics
Matt L and Nate M:
- the office can help us best stream games?
- both are frustrated with discord capture quality
Stodal:
- open to starting to talk to MIGS about tech streaming options
Tronster:
- how do we show new games
- how much can be precanned
- will each dept have a unique look and feel or does it make sense to keep consistent look and feel
- how does each dept present games
Stoldal:
- can give tech requirements
- graphics / overlays will be available via a master package
- each dept may further customize this master package overlay etc
- host needs to hype what is coming up next
Debra:
- come up with a consistent overlay/graphics package for the MIGS stream
Nate M:
- cohesive look and feel for the overlay/graphics
Debra:
- we should let people submitting to the show that they should know the layout
Stoldal:
- need to know what the safe areas of the screen are so not covered in overlay
