Pre Meeting:

NDI router is figured out and did OBS test with Jesse and a few skype sources

Attendees: MIGS people testing with Stoldal

Tech Stream: Matt L: will record this session locally and post later Stoldal: who is streaming to master control: MIVS (Andrew) / IA (Nate/Matt) OBS v26 or better (important updates so be sure using it) did a screen share in discord

SRT Test:

download this and install: https://srtminiserver.com/srtstreamer.html (v0.63 build 28) Server URL: XXXX needs to be replaced with key: Server: srt://rk691167.rtmpminiserver.com:9001 StreamID: the stream key Latency: 200 Allow in Firewall OBS looks like: srt://rk691167.rtmpminiserver.com:9001?streamid=XXXX&latency=200

install and it will ask a few questions then press the speed test button Appears everyone's internet is not great Ideal: over 10k kbs If SRT doesn't work, might just need to use more traditional RTMP Matt/Andrew stuff looks good enough Going to do a full OBS test with Andrew Andrew: asked about Skype screenshare and if the half second latency is fine Stoldal: skype will consistency renegotiating the calls and may be path of least resistence

We all streamed into our various hub via skype/obs Nate shared with Andrew on how to lock the bounding box so OBS doesn't resize when changing source count. https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/working-with-skype-in-obs.117885/post-444028 use the "Copy Transform" settings option to copy/paste tot he other windows

Stoldal: all VU meters will move together. Matt L: So take one Skype audio feed for all the incoming people. It will not feed in our local audio Matt/Nate talked about skype audio routing for a bit (skype remote audio mixing, not local)

In skype: how do you get video game sounds and presenter sounds? appears there is a local skype option to do both ACTION: how do we do our screenshare audio / best practices for our Devs?

Stoldal: our Target is 3-4k at 1080p at 30fps (don't necessarily need 60fps)

A lot of testing was done

OBS packages/templates are coming from Chronowolf

Stoldal: the OBS/NDI router makes changing the inputs easier

SKYPE: BE SURE THAT NOBODY PUTS SKYPE INTO TOGETHER MODE BECAUSE IT WILL DO BAD THINGS TO SOURCES

Now we are going to test traditional RTMP

The RTMP backup was tested an working fine

Stoldal: it works and is fine enough as a backup. SRT is more bleeding edge

Andrew: nobody is the host per se The MIVS wrangler will be calling people and getting them together for the 'greenroom' using a round robin set of meeting URLs. That way Andrew can then going the new meeting URL when changing over.

We should definitely test audio
