Prioritization
Innkeepers will need to prioritize reservations and make judgement calls in the absence of information. We have a couple of tried and true habits that help reduce personnel issues.
When creating reservations prioritize accessibility, roommate anti requests, matching nights, roommate requests, and finally -- if there is still availability in the room -- by similar department(s).

Best Practices
- Whenever possible, match staffer room nights.
- After the bulk of room requests have been created, it will not be possible for each and every staffer to have matching room nights. That’s okay: just do your best to get at least two, ideally three, staffers with matching room nights.
- When in doubt, create assignments for staffers from the same departments.
- In the absence of information, try to create reservations with similar genders.
- As an example, room reservations with three males and one female have historically required significant adjustment or an entirely new reservation.
- We do not collect gender identities so it may be necessary at times to contact staffers directly via email about their gender identity and rooming preferences. This is okay! Staffers are happy to help us accommodate them.
- If there is a time crunch and this isn’t possible, create the best reservation you can. Staffers can always request new room assignments and we will always accommodate necessities.
