Section A - The Basics

Introduction

Staff Suite is a volunteer-facing department within MAGFest. This means, unlike many of the other departments, we do not interact with attendees. Our responsibility is to provide meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner; for our volunteers, staff, guests, and VIPs. We utilized suite space within the Gaylord to provide a cooking space, prep space, and service space for our customers, along with a seating area so individuals can enjoy their meal.

We are effectively working as a kitchen. Come in clothes that may get dirty, and shoes that will support standing for long periods of time.

Communication

We have several slack channels

• #Super-staff-suite
  • This channel is for all MAGFest Volunteers/staff to utilize. We see a lot of questions here both during and before the event. We will also use this channel to get general information out to volunteers/staff during the event.
• #Super-staff-suite-sweeties
  • This channel is for us! This channel is full of the Staff Suite Volunteers. DH’s will post about Staff Suite specific inquiries within this channel. STOPS will also place any feedback within this channel for the group as well. We will coordinate open meetings within this channel as well.
• #Super-staff-suite-ordering-app
  • Staff suite uses an ordering system for to-go orders. DH’s and their staff, from other departments, will go to this channel to post inquiries about the system.
• We also have a private channel for those in Leadership positions (more info below)
