The DH on-call supervises department operations and is available as an escalation point of contact for the staff on-duty.
Indie Arcade booth staff assist attendees with general helpdesk questions, as well as managing tournament sign-ups and tracking tool loans to exhibitors. They also have access to the department’s slack via the booth laptop to handle escalation of maintenance requests, food orders, etc.
Creator Support team members work to provide support for our exhibitors and contractors at the event. This includes:
The Indie Arcade has several projectors and a sound system for tournaments and other activities (late night Indie Arcade parties, jampod events, etc). A staff member with general A/V tech knowledge will be on shift for all events requiring use of these systems, to help with cabling, projector signal issues, and general support.
During their shift, archivists walk around the Indie Arcade and take nice pictures of the department and individual installations for posterity, and share them to the department Google Drive folder.
All tasks related to general departmental setup/strike, including but not limited to assisting with physical load-in and load-out, running power, labeling, retrieving/returning additional materials from techops/hotels/stops, cleaning and organizing the space, etc.
The layout team clearly tapes out the department layout in Expo C and directs traffic during contractor and exhibitor load-in.
