2023-05-30
Present: Nate, Lauren, Casey, Tom D, Jared, Cralls, Dave, Sarah
Agenda:
- Finalized questions for panels submissions/other content submissions
- What other departments should we be getting this out to?
- What other content warnings do we want, if any?
- “Accessible to kids” - what does it mean, how can we help people achieve it?
- We should get panels to put a quick blurb about propriety on panel tables
Minutes:
- Went thru the magscouts panel submission questions with Tom, he’s got them in the panel update form for Reggie now MAGFest Submission Form Content Warnings
- Still planning to go-live July 1 pending Reggie update
- Arena, TT Panels, Makerspace all go thru the form
- Guests don’t always use the form, but do host events and have their own schedule.
- MAGFast
- Other departments - we should talk to Music about getting similar questions on their submission forms. Jam clinic for example
- Does panels want help drafting language for the panelists for MAGscouts-safe panels? Yes. They have basics on the table for people about like, speaking clearly, but MAGScouts-special rules would be a good reminder (deadline would be literally MAGFest)
- “Accessible to kids” - what does it mean, how can we help people achieve it?
Action Items:
- Reach out to other departments about their submissions forms/process, and if they can include our 2 questions (content warnings, magscouts opt-in)
- Music, JamClinic - Nate the Younger to talk to Nate the Elder (Rik Lloyd? PFK?)
- Guests - Sarah to talk to Sarah about how to integrate these into the guests process
- MAGFast - CRalls to talk to Jarett
- Review Casey’s doc and polish it into a handout for other depts/panelists/people who need it - Cralls, Dave
- One-pager for AwesomeCon - 6/16 - Lauren
Next Meeting: 6/20
- Branding - now that we know who we are and what we’re doing, build this so we can present to the world
- Internal things, like a dept-handbookish
- Things that are consumable/publishable on the website so attendees know what it is, how to participate, etc
