• Buy Out: A process in which staffers reserve portions of a staff room by paying MAGFest for the equivalent space. This is typically reserved for department heads and notable, required circumstances for accessibility.

• Hotel Eligible: A staffer or volunteer who has been given departmental approval to have a shared staff room.
• Shoulder Nights: Days that are either before or after the event’s days.
• Staff: Usually, a second year MAGFest volunteer that volunteers at least thirty hours at an event. Staff receive special perks including swadges and staff room eligibility.
• Reggie: MAGFest’s proprietary event management software.
• Volunteer checklist: A list of information gathered from each staffer and volunteer e.g. shirt sizes, staff room requests, shift sign up, and dietary restrictions.
