For Super 2025

Volunteers are required to purchase admission to the event, but are eligible for various rewards, including swag, food, badge refunds, and even complimentary admission to future events. The more hours you put in, the more rewards you get! Some hours are weighted more than others (such as highly-skilled jobs or late-night shifts), so you can choose a schedule that works best for you.

We have three types of volunteers:

• Pre-Registered Volunteers

• Staffers

• At-Event Volunteers (Or Walk-On)

Pre-Registered Volunteers and Staffers:

If you've pre-registered and are signed up to volunteer, make sure in order to be eligible for these perks:

• Volunteering ANY amount of time gets you:

  • Volunteer-Exclusive Lanyard

• Volunteering at least 12 weighted hours gets you:

  • Meals and snacks in our Staff Suite
  • Access to our Tea Room and Coffee Room
  • Discount at the MAGFest merch booth
    • You must have either a staff badge, or a volunteer ribbon on an Attendee Badge. It is your responsibility to show this to the Fangamer staff at Merch before checking out - discounts or refunds not be applied post-purchase.
    • This discount does not apply to pre-ordered merch packages.
  • For Staff: 1 Staff Shirt (If this is your first year staffing, we’ll have staff shirts from previous years up for grabs in STOPS so you can have a couple to wear!). Here’s the info on when/how to wear your shirt.

• Volunteering at least 24 weighted hours gets you:

  • All items from the category above
  • Opportunity to purchase Swadge at a discount ($30 for Super 2024, TBD for Super 2025)
  • If you are a Volunteer (first year): a badge refund for existing year.
  • For everyone: Staff Status (includes a comped badge) for MAGFest 2026!

• Volunteering at least 30 weighted hours (ONLY IF you are a Staffer) makes you eligible to request shared space in one of our staff hotel rooms.

  • Utilizing the Staffer Pre-Lottery Room Requests process also carries a 30 hour requirement. You must work 30 weighted hours at the event during which you use this perk.

What is Staff Status? What is Staff Crash Space?

MAGFest Staff are volunteers who have been certified as trusted volunteers who are capable of handling more responsibility. Volunteering 24 hours or more grants staff status to the following event. Staffers receive a customized badge, as well as a staff shirt to distinguish themselves to attendees as returning volunteers. They also earn the ability to request Staff Crash space in exchange for volunteering 30 hours. They cap out at 30 instead of 24 hours for earning perks.
